Hello and welcome to my webpage. I have taught at Emmanuel Lutheran for 17 years, although there were 10 years I moved to the Kamehameha Schools Maui.  I have come back to Emmanuel where I, once again, teach third grade.  I believe a Christ-centered education is the most important quality in a child’s life, and Emmanuel Lutheran is a safe, caring school which gives us the opportunity to pray and share the teachings of Jesus Christ in class.  In addition to teaching third grade, I teach middle school drama and direct the acting portions of our Christmas and Spring musicals.  All the world’s a stage, and here at Emmanuel, we try to prepare our students for the greatest show on earth…life. I have kept up on the latest forms of teaching as a member of the International Reading Association (IRA), The Hawaii Writing Project, and I have participated in the National Differentiated Learning Conference in Las Vegas Nevada, for several years. I have volunteered in the community as a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters for the last 10 years. I am married to Debbie who is also in education at Maui College. Our outside interests include traveling and exercise.  I enjoy cycling, running, triathlons, and working out in a gym. I am as excited to teach now as I was when I started, and I truly feel God’s plan for me is to educate and love children. I feel blessed to be at Emmanuel.
