Ann Bergman is in her sixth year of service as the principal of Emmanuel Lutheran School. She has served in Lutheran schools since her graduation in 1973 from Concordia Teachers College – River Forest (now called Concordia University- Chicago). Ann has taught and/or served in administration in schools in Illinois, California, Oregon, Washington, and currently here on Maui. Ann’s husband, Paul, teaches middle school math, literature, and art at Emmanuel. Ann and Paul have two sons and a beautiful daughter-in-law who all live in Washington state. Ann’s hobbies include music (she plays the piano, organ, and French horn), reading, and learning home decorating tips from HGTV. When asked why she continues to serve in Lutheran schools, she answers: “I cannot imagine NOT working with the students, staff, and families of one of our Lutheran schools. My greatest joy is sharing the hope that we have in Jesus as our Savior, Protector, Provider, and best Friend. Praying with and for the many people who come into my office is a large part of my every day schedule. My desire is to be used by God to touch each person with His love. I can think of no greater calling.”
