Joshua Schneider received his first call into the pastoral ministry from Emmanuel Lutheran in the spring of 2006. He has been on staff since July of that year. During his first two years on Maui, he was a teacher in the junior high of Emmanuel Lutheran School, teaching science and religion for the 6th-8th grade. Since then he has moved to full-time responsibilities as pastor of Emmanuel. He is a 2006 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a Masters of Divinity (MDiv) degree; and 2002 graduate of Concordia University River Forest with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. He is married and has one child, and he grew up in the Detroit area of Michigan. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, hiking in the beautiful mountains of Maui, snorkeling, and other outdoors activities. His passion in ministry is in proclaiming the good news of Jesus’ rescue for us sinners, and teaching Bible classes. He also has a personal interest in apologetics, the defense of the Christian faith.
