Fine Arts

Music - Emmanuel Lutheran School offers a music and choir program for all of our students. Students in grades K-5 are expected to participate in two special School Sunday worship services each year. All students (K-8) are expected to participate in our annual Christmas and Spring musicals.  These programs provide opportunities for the development of performance skills and for praising God through music and drama. Since participation at these programs is expected, students will be required to have a written excuse for absence.

Band - Advanced Band is offered as an elective to all 6th-8th grade students who have had prior band experience or permission from the instructor.  All fifth grade students are required to take an Introduction to Musical Instruments (Beginning Band) class.  A student must maintain a “C”   average in all subject areas in order to be eligible to participate in after-school and weekend Band activities.     

Art – Emmanuel offers an arts program in each grade to foster creativity and cultivate art appreciation.  We  believe that each child is endowed by God with creative   talents, and though these talents may vary, it is our goal to nurture and encourage their growth.

Computer Education- Emmanuel Lutheran has a centrally located “networked” computer lab equipped with MAC Mini’s and HD monitors. Students will be introduced to computer skills at age appropriate levels through our curriculum

Electives/Grades 6-8  –  Emmanuel Lutheran offers an electives program that allows students who are not in band to choose from other electives offered for that school year.  The other choices may vary from year to year depending on the gifts and talents of the teaching staff.  At Registration Day, parents and students will be asked to choose their first and second choices for their electives.  The staff will determine final placement in the electives based on these choices and on space availability.

 Extra-Curricular Eligibility Policy—a student must maintain a “C” average in all subject areas in order to be eligible to participate in any after-school programs.
